Long lost roller derby pics!

Here are the Roller Derby pics *previously held hostage in Aisha's camera!* Lol

Don't believe this pic...I can NOT skate! Lol

Roller Derby Queen!

Someone took an L...at least it wasn't me! Ha!

Not sure what's going on here...but apparently it was hilarious!

Just gimme a bat and a sketchpad!

This week my friend Stephen from Dallas (Hey Stephen!) was in town and invited me to the Yankee's game! 1st...I've never been to a Yankee's game...2nd...I had never been to The Bronx! So I knocked out 2 birds with 1 stone. I had a blast! And even tried to act like I knew what was going on! Lol. Live sporting events are so much fun bc you find yourself really getting into it, even if you weren't a huge fan before. Playing the fan games...singing the songs...and eating stadium food...fun times! Here's a few pics:

On crowded train on the way to the game...Stephen thought this pic was hilarious. Lol.

Yay! We made it!

Us again after the game

Another fun thing from this week....
For the past few months I was involved with a project between the jewelry design students at FIT and the Palladium association (Palladium is Platinum's little cousin). We were challenged to create a design using palladium using inspiration received from fashion bloggers also involved in the project. It was such an amazing real life experience! And we were even given one of our finished pieces...which I'll be wearing everyday for awhile probably (Im just obsessive like that sometimes lol). Here's the pics:

My Initial Sketch

The Finished Cuff!!!

My cuff and my ring from a previous project....

My school friends made some pieces that really rocked out too!

We are the future!

Even Vivienne Westwood did a Couture collection with the Palladium Association

Yummers

Sooo last Saturday, as Jamee and I were sitting around chatting on a cool rainy day we somehow got on the subject of wanting lemonpepper wings. Just to give you a little background, I didn't really become a big lemonpepper wing fan until I moved to Dallas and discovered a little place called WingStop! I love them so much that I made a point of going to WingStop the day before I officially moved...knowing that it would be a looong time before I had them again.

And considering the fact that we had no food in our place (and we still don't)...the urge to find lemonpepper wings became stronger! So we put out an APB for lemonpepper wings...tapping into our social networks, text harrassing friends, and of course google. Wings are not a big thing in NYC, so our NY friends had no clue where to find lemonpepper wings. But of course...google came to the rescue! As I typed in "lemonpepper wings NYC"...I found an article that mention WingStop. My first response? "NOOOOO! NOOOO! THERE ISN'T REALLY A WINGSTOP IN NYC! OMG!" I didn't believe it...so I went to WingStop's website...and then even called just to make sure it was real!

Our motivation for the long trip....we prob shoulda been trekking to the grocery store! lol

That's where our Saturday travel plans developed. We google mapped the location in Astoria (Queens)...and it said 1 hr and 4 minutes by public transportation!!! We even considered renting a ZipCar for a few hours...but after calculating that it would cost us about $100...our rational minds kicked back in. Lol. So we thought "are we really gonna travel over an hour just to get wings?!?"...."Ummmmm....YES!"

"So I guess we're really gonna do this?"

It felt like the longest ride known to man, but it was def worth it! We were so happy that we decided to do it once a month! LOL.

Yum!! We bought a ton of wings with the intent of taking some home for later!

ANOTHER CRAVING

So for Easter, we both stayed in NY instead to going home for family time. It was cool though bc we decided to get a little soul food as consolation. Our destination of choice was Amy Ruth's in Harlem! It was super yummy...way better than Sylvia's. I finally got the fried fish I had been craving!

Overall...it was a good weekend for yummy (fattening) food. Maybe this weekend I'll eat salads to balance it out. Lol

Summer--Oh Summer! Stop Avoiding me!

I haven't written anything in awhile because not much has been going on!! I've been eagerly awaiting the official start of Spring! You guys spent the whole winter reading my complaints about the snow...so I'm desperately in need of Spring to get here...bc that means Summer is just around the corner!! Since the weather has let up a little we've been getting out a little bit more....

Birthday celebrations

For my birthday I wanted my friends to dress up as their alter egos! My name was Bianca Lovelace and Jamee was Golden Banks! Pics below!

We also celebrated my friend Lenore's birthday! She's great and had a lot of amazing people at her brunch! Check out her website www.LenoreCoer.com (I just felt like giving her a random S/O) Hey Lenore!

Family dinners
We do these every month...pretty much! Fun times always!

Also, we went to a really cool event where Jesse Boykins performed (I heart him!)...sorry no pics! But it was fun. And as always we've been meeting more new people! Coming up in the next few weeks we have some fun stuff planned!

Friday we have the Disco Roller Derby...I know this is gonna be absolutely hilarious! Especially considering the fact that I am a HORRIBLE skater! Don't ask me why! All the things people learned how to do when they were little are not my thing...skating...swimming...hula hooping! Idk. I simply suck at them all. lol. I didn't really get decent at hula hooping until I was in college (so sad). So I should have crazy pics of us all dressed up in our Disco roller skating clothes!

Oh yeah...me and Jamee will also be starting a line of T's this summer. More details coming soon. LOL #M2bF <----Purposely vague statement lol
